Day 367-368- First "Inside"

This is what I remembered.

Two rooms, one of them with a beautiful mosaic flooring.
Eastern European in design.
Ewalina, the name that popped into my head when I saw this.

A casement window that opened to the inside.
Bare dirty floor.
A beautiful wallpaper.
Eva.

But it was that first room that I remembered better.

Because of the painting on the wall.

A Persian influenced wall mural. Painted using the traditional method.

I had to leave for Taiwan almost straight after that but I remember thinking as I stared at the wall mural that day: I wish I could show this to Betsy.

I can truly understand that showing this to Betsy came to your mind... but don't you dare think that the rest of us doesn't want to see this, too! *wink* Especially the mural is breathtaking with these bright colours, and what you've done with the rest to accompany the mural is outstanding. But what else to expect from Her Highness, the weaver of most magical posts!

Hugs

There is that Blue again, Sans!!! Did I ever tell you I had painted my bedroom that color in my old house... and started painting the flowers and trees on it... inspired Directly from those Very Persian paintings!!! Alas, I had to leave before it was ever "finished"...
Of course, your mural IS the very Garden I wish I could have painted... complete with the tent and the Prince and the animals ...(which I am sure must be lurking in the bushes just off the side of the wall...!)
Are they debating the Mysteries of Life and the Gods? And What is this Pavilion that is Painted thus???
Oh, the Color, the Details... the Beauty... the Mystery of this place...!!! I am Enchanted Again!!!

Hey 17-17! Maybe you recognised the mosaic flooring? :):) Since you are from the same country as my Polish sister , Ewalina :).

That was from a place we both visited when I was in Poland last year .

Sans! said...

Faby, we had an exhibition here of some of the treasures from the Agha Khan Museum sometime back. I wish I went but I found out about it after the exhibition ended.

That "mural" is actually the details from "Salm and Tur receive the reply of Faridun and Manuchihr" I love the blue of the miniature painting so I decided I had to use it for the abandoned house :).

Ewalina , can't you tell that I got my inspiration from all of you? There is something important about this house that I will reveal at the end or maybe you will soon guess. :):)

Do you remember where I got the "mosaic" flooring from ? LOL

This house is breaking my back. I have been having this ache at the small of my back and I thought it was because of the running. I just realised yesterday that it must be this house because I work on it sitting on the floor with a bench as the table. The house is so small! When I work I sit for hours and every single item took me ages!

Thank you for writing. I am already replying you in my head :):)

Sans! said...

O yes, Ewalina! Recognise the carpet you gave me? Do you like what I have done with it ? * guilty giggles

Sans! said...

Thank you AM. I am glad that a fellow lover of dilapidation enjoys them :):):)

Bets! *whispers Do it! Do It! I will love to see your mosaic interpretation. You know in this scale, it is so hard to do tiny mosaic floor art. Mine is not very convincing. I much prefer my "slate tiles".

There is something about these Eastern European tapestry art. You just want to make mosaic out of them :):) and put them in one of your projects so that you can stare at it for a long long time. :)

Awww Kim! You are too sweet!

These pictures are awful but they are the only ones I took on that day. :)

Ro! I was just thinking how I am still brave enough to do a true abandoned house :):).

The girls (Cindy and Steph) are here. We are cooking lunch! Ya, me who doesn't even know the difference between a blender and a juicer helping to make lunch :).

Steph is bringing kimchi and some other Korean food she cooked. Cindy and I are cooking rice! teehee !

Ciao bella!

Birgit, I wonder if like me, you relate what you do to friends who are reading your posts? For eg, as I was reading your comment, I was thinking " I wonder if Persians eat strawberries?" :):) What do you think? :)

What I would love to see is a joint Sans-Daydreamer project, can you imagine? Maybe a village of homes, in a traveling caravan, that light up at night, under a sky of tiny electric stars. I'll happily collect the tickets at the door!
