Day 406- Home

A little bird told me.
No, it was more like she sang to me.

God loved birds and invented trees.
Man loved birds and invented cages.

I know you are not God but you did build a tree.
And it is such a pretty tree.
With the falling leaves and the red hot bark and oh,
those wee blue ones among the green.

And when I saw how they look just rather like me, I knew
I must be home.

If you had built this tree intending it to be a cage,
then I say trap away!
For if all cages are built just like your tree
we may never need to flee again.

What a lucky bird to have found such an exquisite tree. Your poem is the perfect accompaniment!

I don't like to use cages for birds or other animals...In my miniature scenes I always leave the doors open (except the one with the gnome...he can't be trusted ;-))
The bird is lovely, just what the tree needed!!!

A beautiful poem accompanied by beautiful pictures. Oh yes; why is it we humans always try to grab and possess everything we adore ....

Hello Sans! Your beautiful bird is a beautiful addition to the equally beautiful tree sculpture. Your poetry is so appropriate for this dream- story. Did you make your sweet bird of youth, or did it fly in just for your song?

Ahhhhhhh *screams* Veronique!!!! It is such a pleasure seeing you here! Especially as you made me laugh out loud at Betsy's bog with your comment. Here, I am giving you back the mini hanky I borrowed ....nahhhhh, come to think of it , I am keeping the hanky.

Sending you birdie kisses :)

O yes, I do so agree with you, Margriet. Traditional cages (as opposed to my modern version of course) are only meant for naughty gnomes :).

As you might have guessed, your birdcage and this tree is quite closely linked. :) Remember how yours is also opened in thsi abandoned house?

If there are no gnomes, cages should always be opened :)

Thank you Marta!

If you loooooooove 'em,
Seeeeeeeetttttt them freeee !!!

Liduina, if only you can hear me screech, you will be able to tell I so agree with you , in theory of course. I need to learn to dispossessed my many "things" .

But living things? NEVER! I never caged them...no no no no no. True story. :):)

It really is better to never know when your favourite bird or his /her friend is flying into your garden and then be so thrilled when it does then to have it caged in. You can never go on a holiday again without worrying if it's going to starve to death!!

Thank you Drora :).

Missy and master Golly really love the birdie ;)

Betsssssssssssss! Kisses always for your beautiful comments!

And about your birds..of course theywill have to stop singing over where you are for a while to set the scene for the sounds of silent tears :).

For now, the tale of Sorrow
But tomorrow...
when ends the mellow
there shall again be chirping sparrows!

Sans! said...

Yes Eliana :) the blue birds worked! :):)

Gracias, Carmen :)

Elizabeth, the sweet bird is a creature of nature! Can't you tell?

hahaha..well, I bashed *giggles* a bird which I bought a few years back from Chatuchak, my favourtest flea market situated in Bangkok.

I made her so giddy after the bashing, she couldn't fly very far and had to stay and sing for me. I wrote the song of course and you may now call me Maestro, or the Phantom of the Opera!!!! mwahahahahaha

Si, Manu. Riesci a sentire lei ti chiama "Ciao Bella!"

What a clever bird - chosing the most beautiful tree as its beautiful home... I enjoyed every single word of your beautiful post - okay, that's nothing new because I always do, but this saying about the birds and the cages really touched my heart. And you know in my opinion one of the most beautiful sounds in the world is the song of the blackbird... ;O)

Hugs
Birgit (who shall say hello from Magica and Mysteria, they want me to tell you that witches have no problems with garlic at all, quite the opposite, if you have a little nasty vampire batty like Igor in your witch tower it's the best way to protect your supply of dragon blood... *grin*)

Yo Birg :):). You done with that spade yet? :) Ok, I know you won't understand this until you have read my new post :).

I just want to tell you that there is one thing I will always associate with you and my time in Wankendorf. Birds. You and blackbirds and the pair we saw in your garden on the Sunday we were having Kaffelatsch and marzipan cakes :).

I am going to email you soon. Tried texting you twice on the phone but my attempts failed! Arghhh
