Day 254-Gifts For Baby, Jennifer's Way

First, a wire basket

of many nutritious eggs,

for both mummy and baby
to keep them strong and healthy.

Then a pitcher and bowl for washing

before mummy handles baby

or cooks a meal for him.

And while the water's boiling

to fill up for their bath

we can already hear his gurgles,
the splashing and their laughs.

A lovely crib for Baby
to sleep under the sky

while mummy sings to him
the sweetest lullaby

Books for when mum's not so busy?

But life with Baby does get a little crazy!

And although she knows it won't be long
Before he grows tall, big and strong
No matter what, she says to he,
you are always my baby boy to me.

All these wonderful Gifts for Baby were won by me in a giveaway organised by Jennifer om 23/5/2011There was also a sachet where she put dried lavender that she grew herself and of course, her cards starring the plush toys that she made

I remembered how thrilled I was when I found out I had won because the cradle, metal pot, bathtub, paper dolls and photos were from when she started collecting minis in the '70s. The wash basin, basket of eggs, and baby books were recent finds but the baby books are vintage 1970s as well.

I soon found out that this kind of generosity is not unusual where Jen is concerned. Sharing and giving is her way of life and if you are a follower of her blog, I am sure you will know exactly what I mean. This lady organises giveaways so often that I think she has one every other time I visit her blog!

Here's to you, Jen!

You make blogland fun with your plushies and your generosity.

I am so glad we are friends.

Hi Norma, been really busy too. It's the time of the year I suspect!

Won the lot and received them since July :) but it has taken me so long to take pictures :). I was however waiting for a good moment to make this baby post though. Some of you may know why this is a good time :).

besos y abrazos

What wonderful prizes! I love the way you photographed them, Sans, the two scales-it makes the beauty and details of the tiny things more wondrous. I love the paper dolls. And goodness, your moss-covered clay planter-it's becoming one with the garden. I especially love the old daguerrotypes-I've collected the full size ones since I was a little kid, intrigued, at first, by the strange and complicated clothing. Later, they became important for the perspective they give, all these lives that preceded mine, my own life so self-important-all these little children that grew up and lived their adventures and passed, all these stories that came before, leaving shadows on paper and cardboard, but real as me, as you, as all of us fortunate to be here now...
