Day 232- 245-From Palace To Ashram

My Maharajah's Palace,

teaching a giving  life  I  aspire to lead,

this is the journey I will be embarking for the next 2 weeks.

And

am

excited,

very excited.

In another few minutes, I will be leaving for the airport to catch my 0230 hrs flight to Delhi . In the course of the next 14 days, I will be travelling through the vast Rajasthani deserts, chugging along ancient pilgrimage route and dunking myself in the sacred River Ganges. Yes! THE Mother Ganga! THE Very Source Of Life!

It is unlikely that I will be on the world wide web while experiencing these wonders of Mother Nature. I will miss you all and although  I cannot bring each and everyone of you along, I hope you can at least join me on another  wonderful trip around our human planet. O yes, don't miss my twig ladder and about a thousand or more of my fishing traps in the video which should really be watched full screen.

I have watched it many times and I still get the goose bumps each time.

Thank You , May, for thinking of me and for giving me the link.

And till I am back from India, my friends,

namaste!

Drora :):) I am home :):). So much has happened since I was gone :) but I am finally having some breathing space to reply to all my dear friends :).

I love very many aspects of the Indian culture and because of that I can love India for all its quirks. It is hardly a cosy or easy country. Someone told me, if you can travel in India , you can travel anywhere. Haha! Truth is I am more comfortable in India than I was in parts of Africa :). I will share more of my adventure soon.

Sans! said...

Victoria, I did have a wonderful trip. Thank you for your good wishes! :)

Sans! said...

Ewa, it was peaceful and in many ways, very new to me. I am back and trying not be sucked back to the very bad habits and the old ways that I had grown accustomed to but were not doing me any good. :)

I am already looking forward to my next ashram experience.

Sans! said...

Natalia, its lunchtime again in Singapore :):) !

I was looking at my India pictures with my friends last night. There is a special picture I took just for you. :) You must come back here when I make the post on Maharajah India to see that pic ok?

Sans! said...

Muchas gracias , May!

Amor, besos y abrazos

Sans! said...

Natalia, I did a bit of stitching in India :). Stupidly, I took the sewing box to the plane so now I am without scissors and even needles! I have forgotten that they were prohibited on the plane when I came back. So now I am without my favourite sewing scissors :(. The gain is my dad just bought me a pair of beautiful Victorian embroidery scissors so as they say, you gain some, you lose some :)

Sans! said...

Katie, hope you are reading this reply because I had to tell you I received that lovely lovely birdhouse on 18/3/2011! It was sitting on my desk when I came in to work that day. :). Must have arrived early.

Seriously, the birdhouse is perfectly made. I love it so much! This morning, I have found a place for it at the tribal house. We will see if it is to be permanently there :)

Eva, it was all play and no work :)!

Contar, I will make my posts over this weekend :). My friends and I had a good laugh last night when we saw them :).

Sans! said...

Jollie, because of this trip, I have deepened my friendships with 2 girls I have known since I was 18 ;). I also found some answers that have been plaguing me for a few years now. I think it's the chance to be quiet , meditative and mindful. I am really glad I did this trip :).

Sans! said...

Ara :):):) How's the little one?

The ashram was a yoga retreat and because it taught me to focus and concentrate so well, I have been bugging my sis to let her 10 year old girl join yoga classes :):) so that she too cna learn how to focus and concentrate. My niece really has an attention span of a 5 year old still :). I will tell you more soon :)

Sans! said...

Maria Luisa :)hola hola!

Yo estaba agradecido:). Te diré más pronto:)

Sans! said...

Birgit, I don't think I will ever be tired of that clip. And guess what? When I was in India, I saw many many many of the life size ladders that looked like the mini one I made! :):)

Sans! said...

My dear Betsy, I think you, in particular, will enjoy the ashram experience. Being so close to nature, spending hours on meditation and yoga every day , having vegetarian meals ...hmm, which may be a problem..

Do you like Indian food? The ashram I went to used loads of beans and potatoes so I worry all the time about gas during yoga or worse, when we are quietly meditating ..lol!

Sans! said...

I am back Piiko. I will really love to read about what all of you have been up to during my time in India :):). Soon!

Sans! said...

Ana, I did and I told my friends about how I may be visiting Portugal and Spain soon :)

Sans! said...

Grace, it's pretty surreal that I got to stay in the very palace where that hall was. It is really mind blowing and absolutely gorgeous . I will show you pictures soon!

Marion, you can do anything you want :) including visiting India with me. I am planning a craft trip to India next year. This is a trip I will love to make together with anyone of you because it is doing what we love. Embroidery, block printing, silver smithing etc etc.

Let me know if you want more details :):).

I am very eager to share what I did in India with you :):).

Patricia !!!!!!!! Museum of Childhood? Yay! I went to the Craft Museum in Delhi and saw the most amazing exhibit of an Indian market scene in 1:12. Sadly I was not allowed to take pictures :(:(

I can't wait to see those pics you took! Quickie quick quick , send me :):)

Sans! said...

Jayne, you have been greatly missed. Guess what magazine I bought when I was in Delhi ? Elle Decor India of course ! LOL

Loan it to my sis without reading it 1st so I don't even know what's in there.

Now that you are back, don't go away for too long again.

Minka, the ones in this post are not mine :):). I did this post before I left . But if you have seen the ones I posted later in late March and April and you still like them, then I am very flattered because after seeing Claude Renault's work on the blog you recommended, I know mine pale in every way :):):)
